Family Syllabus: This lovely family in Sherman Oaks is searching for their own rockstar full-time nanny! They have three active children who are 1, 2.5, and 4-years-old. Their darling four-year-old is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and has an ABA therapist she meets with daily. She is super outgoing and has OT and PT throughout the week as well as art, music, and gymnastics. She is very highly functioning and needs help with social cues. The children attend school now for three days a week and in the summer the kids will attend 5 days per week. Their oldest toddler son is rambunctious, full of fun, and also goes to music and art class. Their sweet 1-year-old buddy is close to walking and he loves his older siblings. The parents work from inside the home. Pet lovers, please apply! This wonderful family has 5 cats and 2 small dogs that can’t wait to meet their new best friend! The dogs are looking forward to afternoon walks with their future nanny!
Ideal Candidate: This family’s ideal nanny is outgoing and bubbly, active, outdoorsy, and motivated. Safety to the highest priority! Candidates with experience assisting children with special needs and an abundance of patience would be the perfect fit. This family would love bilingual candidates, as well! No preference for the language requirement. Mom speaks fluent English and Thai and would love exposure to other languages in the household. The family is open to candidates who don’t have a college degree and they would like the nanny to have experience with special needs children. Please be kind yet firm with boundaries, and be able to talk through big emotions with each child. The parents are looking for a nanny who can bring in great gentle parenting skills. Communication will be key.
Job Synopsis: A typical day in this position will include walking the family’s sweet dogs, picking up the children from school, and taking them to any scheduled appointments or activities. Other duties may include meal prep for the children and cleaning up after meals and handling the children’s laundry. The schedule for this position is Monday to Friday 12 pm-8 pm. This role is paying $30-40/hour gross with paid vacation, sick days, and holidays. Overnights and travel will be rare, but they would love to have the option to take a nanny with them domestically and internationally. A vehicle will be provided for the nanny to use during working hours to take the children to after-school activities or appointments.
