FAMILY ASSISTANT | NANNY | ORGANIZED

Are you an experienced family assistant/nanny seeking your next long-term opportunity? Do your references describe you as professional, organized, proactive, and dependable? Are you passionate about supporting school-aged children and preteens? If you answered “Yes!” this wonderful opportunity in Sherman Oaks may be the perfect fit for you!

Family Syllabus: An incredible family in Sherman Oaks is seeking an exceptional nanny/family assistant to support their two active children, ages 9 and 11. Both parents have demanding careers that require long hours and international travel. The children enjoy a structured routine filled with after-school activities, enrichment opportunities, and plenty of opportunities to explore their individual interests. Their daughter loves art, dance, painting, and writing, while their son enjoys gaming, sports, chess, and Legos. Both children love to read and are learning Korean and Spanish, so an interest in language learning is a plus, but not required! The family has a housekeeper and another nanny who provides additional hours during the week.

Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate is a warm, playful, grounded, and highly organized career nanny/family assistant who genuinely enjoys working with elementary-aged children and preteens. A wonderful sense of humor, strong organizational skills, patience, and emotional intelligence will be highly valued. The family is seeking someone who can confidently help with homework, coordinate busy after-school schedules, encourage the children’s individual interests, and keep them active, engaged, and organized. The right candidate will be kind, yet firm, resourceful, and professional, comfortable working independently while remaining a thoughtful, collaborative team player. Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to anticipate the family’s needs are essential. The family values someone who can create consistency and continuity for the children while partnering seamlessly with the parents. One child has a mild milk allergy, so an awareness of ingredients and thoughtful attention to food preparation are appreciated. A college degree is preferred but not required. If you love supporting school-aged children while keeping a busy household organized and running smoothly, this could be a wonderful long-term opportunity!

Job Synopsis: This hybrid nanny/family assistant role combines hands-on childcare with household support and family logistics. Responsibilities include providing after-school care and transportation to activities (dance, art, soccer); helping with homework and keeping the children organized and on track with their daily routines; coordinating schedules and preparing the children for activities and commitments; and assisting with family meal prep. Additional responsibilities include meeting repair professionals, vendors, and other household service providers as needed; running errands such as dropping off and picking up dry cleaning; and proactively anticipating the family’s needs to keep the household running smoothly. The children attend school nearby, so reliable driving and comfort managing busy after-school schedules are essential. For part of 6–8 weeks each year, both parents will be away at the same time, and the nanny/family assistant must be comfortable providing overnight care when needed. Accommodations include a full guest bedroom on the second floor or a separate ADU on the property. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m., with occasional morning and weekend support. The parents will work with the person in the role to ensure that the hours are adjusted and balanced, and they guarantee 40 hours per week. The rate for this position is from $40 to $45 per hour, depending on experience. Benefits include paid vacation, sick days, and holidays, plus a health insurance stipend. The family prefers that a nanny have their own vehicle to transport the children and will reimburse mileage, but they are open to discussing using one of the family cars.

Vaccination Requirements: This family is requesting a nanny with standard immunizations and willing to get the flu shot and COVID boosters.

Roll Call: This amazing position starts January 4th, 2027!
