Family Syllabus: This wonderful family in Mar Vista is looking for a full-time Family Assistant for their two boys. They have 6 and 7-year-old sons who love to be active and need a great role model. The family has a small dog who will need occasional walks and daily feedings, so please be comfortable with dogs. The children attend school during the weekdays from 8 am to 3 pm with an early dismissal on Tuesdays. Both parents work primarily outside of the home, and they also have a weekly housekeeper to handle all of the deep cleaning.
Ideal Candidate: This dynamic family is looking for an energetic and resourceful Nanny/Family Assistant who can become a seamless part of their busy household. They would love to welcome someone fun-loving who is ready to jump in the pool with the boys or head outside to kick a ball around. The ideal candidate enjoys cooking, brings kind, but firm boundaries and structure, while also having the emotional intelligence to “read the room,” knowing when to step in and when to step back and not be too loud in the home. The boys respond very positively to humor, and they enjoy riding bikes and playing sports.
A proactive, organized, and enthusiastic approach is essential. This role blends childcare and family assistant duties, including running errands, creating weekly menus, grocery shopping, preparing meals (such as children’s lunches and family dinners), light tidying, dishes, and keeping up with the children’s laundry. Supporting the children with homework help and school projects is also an important part of the position. Daily responsibilities include school pick-ups, driving to extracurricular activities, and maintaining a safe, reliable driving record. Experience driving in Los Angeles is a must. Beyond childcare, the family values a Family Assistant who thrives at organizing, managing household systems, and keeping the home running smoothly.
Job Synopsis: A typical day with this family includes grocery shopping, healthy meal preparation, school pick-ups, homework support, snack prep, cooking dinner, and cleaning up afterward. Please know the family is only looking for a nanny to make basic meals, and if you are cooking for the kids, make an additional taco for the parents. They are very kind, and Mom is very busy and just needs a little extra support. Additional responsibilities may involve running family errands, tidying, organizing, and driving the children to after-school activities or appointments. The family is looking for someone who truly enjoys planning weekly menus and preparing healthy, delicious meals for everyone. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 12 pm to 8 pm, with occasional flexibility to work earlier and arrive later. The rate for this position is $45+/hour gross, two weeks of paid vacation, and paid sick days. Overnights may be required from time to time. The family will provide a pick-up truck for the nanny to drive (this family loves to surf!).
