Family Syllabus: A warm and welcoming family of three, soon to be four, is looking for an engaging, personable, and energetic nanny to join them in caring for their sweet 2-year-old daughter and newborn on the way. Their toddler attends a nearby preschool Tuesday through Thursday from 8:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This family truly values education. Mom will be home and collaborating with the nanny, and Dad works remotely from a home office. The family is seeking a personable, attentive caregiver who will become a true partner in supporting their children’s development and well-being. They are very close-knit with their extended family and often spend time together, so they’re hoping to find someone who feels comfortable in a lively, family-oriented environment and enjoys being part of a loving household. The family also has a full-time housekeeper.
Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate for this role is someone who genuinely enjoys engaging with young children through conversation, play, and meaningful interaction. A strong background in child development, particularly an understanding of infant and toddler milestones, is highly valued. The family is particularly interested in candidates with experience in preschool teaching or academic coursework/clinical work in early childhood education.
They’re looking for a nanny who is warm, patient, kind, organized, and dependable. Their parenting approach is grounded in empathy and respect, emphasizing gentle guidance, clear boundaries, and consistent, kind communication. They prioritize emotional awareness and language development, encouraging their children to express themselves and understand the world around them. Daily activities often include reading aloud, narrating routines, and helping the children put words to their feelings and experiences. This position calls for a highly engaged and attentive nanny who is genuinely interested in being present with the children. As such, the use of phones or electronic devices while working is not permitted, except in cases of emergency or to ensure the safety of children. Candidates must have either a bachelor’s or associate’s degree, and at least one year of experience working in a preschool setting or in early childhood education. Recent graduates with substantial coursework and hands-on clinical experience in child development or early education are also encouraged to apply.
Job Synopsis:Spend your days immersed in active play, hands-on exploration, and meaningful connection with the children, nurturing a love of reading, curiosity, and joyful learning along the way. This is a child-focused position, but during downtime, responsibilities will include light household tasks related to the children, such as tidying play and sleep areas, managing their laundry, and helping maintain general order in shared spaces. A candidate who combines a passion for early childhood education with an eye for organization will thrive in this role. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00/9:00 a.m. to 4:00/5:00 p.m. Once the baby arrives, the schedule will temporarily shift to 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. until the infant is sleeping through the night, but this schedule may fluctuate based on the family’s needs. Flexibility to adjust hours or occasionally stay late is appreciated, particularly when the parents’ work schedules require it. This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $40–$50/hour gross, along with benefits including paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays. Occasional evening coverage, overnights, and weekend availability will also be required. Please have a clean, reliable vehicle that is insured, as you will be driving the children, and the family will reimburse you for mileage.
Vaccination Requirements: This family is seeking a nanny who is up to date on all vaccinations, including Tdap, MMR, annual flu, and COVID-19 boosters. Please be willing to get the Hepatitis A vaccine.
