Family Syllabus: A loving bicoastal family living in Manhattan is looking for an amazing career nanny to help care for their 2-year-old daughter and 3-month-old baby. They have an NCS to care for the newborn for the first 6 months. Both parents are hands-on and truly enjoy time with their children. They would like a discreet nanny who loves Dr. Becky and understands her parenting philosophies. These parents truly value their nanny and want a long-term fit! Mom sometimes works from home and would like a nanny who is respectful of that. Please be a pet lover without allergies as this family has a dog and a cat.
Ideal Candidate: If you understand gentle parenting and have a passion for child development and experience potty training, this is the perfect fit! Please be warm, but firm in holding boundaries, playful and collaborative. The family’s ideal nanny is flexible to travel domestically and internationally, has a positive attitude, is creative and playful, and is attuned to a child’s emotional development. They are seeking a nanny that is motivated to collaborate with them and help guide them through all aspects of caring for both of their children. A college degree is preferred, but not required. Please be emotionally intelligent and have an understanding of a child’s social, emotional, and intellectual stages of development. This is a full-time live-out role and live-in role while traveling. Nannies currently living in New York who understand the lifestyle of the city are preferred.
Job Synopsis: Spend your days playing pretend, singing, and cooking with the toddler, going on adventures, and creating fun age-appropriate activities. This job is for a flexible travel nanny who is used to going with the flow and working a variety of schedules. Experience with high-profile families is essential as is traveling with children. Additional duties include preparing snacks and meals for the toddler, doing children’s laundry, and some light housekeeping such as keeping the children’s areas neat and tidy and organizing toys, diapering, fostering a love of reading, and creating savvy games and activities, plus making grocery lists. The nanny will also be responsible to inform the assistant when items and supplies need to be ordered. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday from 8 am until 6 pm with the flexibility to work longer days when the parents are working. The family will guarantee 50 hours per week. The rate is $35-40/hour gross DOE with overtime, paid vacation, sick time, and holidays. Please be open to traveling for months at a time domestically and internationally, and be able to drive. No driving will be required in New York.
Vaccination requirements: The family is requesting a nanny who is COVID vaccinated and boosted and has up to date Tdap vaccination.
