Family Syllabus: This loving family in Brooklyn Heights, NY lives next to a massive park and they are searching for the perfect full-time nanny for their infant and toddler! Their children are 9 months old and 3.5 years old and love engaging with people and learning. Their toddler is full of energy and she will attend school in the fall from 9 am-3 pm so the main care during the day will be for the infant. Their son is crawling and pulling up, and getting ready to take those first steps! The parents work from inside the home and they also have a housekeeper. They have a small, friendly dog who can’t wait to greet you each day but will otherwise not require care from the nanny. The family is kind but firm when it comes to their discipline style and they would like a nanny to maintain boundaries and even tones with communication.
Ideal Candidate: Bring your active go-getter energy to this family’s home! The family lives in a townhouse, so please be comfortable and experienced at carrying young children up and down stairs on a daily basis. An experienced toddler and infant nanny who is well-versed in the milestones to come and is ready to engage with these highly driven and independent children is the perfect match for this family! Be ready to focus on their abundance of energy in positive and creative ways! They would love a nanny who is very social, narrates, and sings to their children. A proactive rockstar who will tap into all of the fun things to do in their beautiful Brooklyn Heights neighborhood. A college degree is not required for this role. Spanish speakers are also preferred, but not required. This is a nationwide search and the family is open to hiring nannies who are used to living and working in New York or in winter climates.
Job Synopsis: A typical day in this position will be spent engaging, reading, and facilitating developmentally appropriate activities for the children. Please be comfortable walking to parks and preschool which is about 10 minutes away. Cooking colorful, healthy meals for the children, keeping their rooms organized, and doing their laundry when possible would also be incredibly helpful to these kind parents! Helping to purchase birthday presents, grocery shopping for their meals, and keeping their closets updated are other typical duties. The schedule for this position is Monday to Friday, 9 am-6 pm. This role is paying $35-40/hour gross with paid time off, sick days, holidays, and a health insurance stipend after 6 months. The family will pay up to $45/hour gross for nannies who are educated on child development knowledge, engaging and active, and speak Spanish. Overnights will rarely be required and travel may be required for up to one week at a time. Driving will not be required for this role, but if the nanny is comfortable driving, a vehicle will be provided for the nanny to use during working hours.
Vaccination Requirements: This family is requesting a nanny to be Covid vaccinated, and open to getting a flu shot annually.
