Family Syllabus: A fun, active, educationally conscious family in Bryn Mawr, PA (19010) is seeking a highly qualified Governess/Private Educator to help care for their four children ages 7, 5.5, almost 4, and 2. The children currently attend schools in the morning through early afternoon and the family is looking for an organized, thoughtful, active nanny who is excited to create stimulating, educationally geared activities and outings that will engage and further their children’s learning, tutor and help with homework. The children play together well, are artistic, active, and love to learn! Candidates that have experience working with non-verbal learning disabilities are encouraged to apply. The family is looking for a skilled educator who can make sure the kids are getting individual academic attention and also make time for fun. A candidate who is a team player and happy to work in a fully staffed home with 2 full-time housekeepers, a household manager, and two other nannies is ideal. Both parents are currently working inside and outside of the home and the family likes to travel often, including during the summer months and throughout the year domestically and internationally. The family also has a dog, so please do love pets. The family is open to providing housing for the nanny in a separate location.

 

Ideal Candidate: Their ideal candidate is educated, creative, down-to-earth, collaborative, has a sensitivity to the experience of others, and has exceptional communication skills. A governess who encourages indoor and outdoor play comes prepared with educational, fun activities and crafts, and loves working with multiples would be a welcome addition to their team. They are looking for an experienced person who has strong teaching skills and curiosity for learning and growing with preschool and elementary-age students. A governess who is organized, extremely helpful, willing to run occasional errands that are mostly child-related, and a safe driver with a clean driving record will fit right in. Candidates who are polished, understand professionalism in a fully staffed home, are great role models, work with integrity, and are happy to adhere to the family’s values will be ideal in this home. The family is also open to hiring a highly-qualified nanny with behavioral/special needs experience. This position requires a college degree preferably with a focus on elementary education and experience with neuro-divergent children. Job Synopsis: Additional duties for this role include keeping the children’s belongings organized, packing for trips, helping with light tidying as needed when the housekeepers are off, feeding the dog, and occasionally walking him if the family is away. The schedule for this position will be Mon/Tues, Fri-Sunday for an average of 50 hours per week. Days off will typically be Wednesday/Thursday. The family is open to discussing the schedule. One example could be Mon/Tues: 7 am until 7 pm, Friday 2-8:30 pm, Saturday 9:30- 8 pm, and Sunday 11-8 pm. They are focused on finding the best fit! They are also open to hiring two nannies who may rotate. Qualifications:

A minimum of five years of full-time professional nanny experience

Two years of teaching experience or special education experience

College Degree Required

CPR/first aid certification
