Family Syllabus: This entertainment family, who lives in San Juan Capistrano, is looking for a Newborn Care Specialist to join their family! The family would like an NCS who is flexible and open to traveling to Chicago for work-related adventures a few times in the fall. They have a precious 1-year-old daughter, and they are welcoming their second baby at the end of June. Please be comfortable with a dynamic household, as mom works primarily at home while dad travels frequently for work. The family also has a friendly German Shepherd/Husky/Ridgeback mix who is their first baby, and he enjoys walks and occasional outdoor adventures.
Ideal Candidate: This loving family is in search of a highly skilled and experienced Newborn Care Specialist with a strong background in safe sleep practices. The ideal candidate will provide thoughtful guidance and full support to new parents in the early months, helping them navigate the transition from a family of one child to two. Responsibilities include detailed tracking of feedings, sleep schedules, diaper changes, and behavioral observations, along with clear, consistent communication with parents. They are seeking a mature, educated, responsible, and emotionally intelligent professional who is organized and deeply knowledgeable about newborn care. A true expert in infant development and routines, the NCS will play a key role in establishing healthy sleep and feeding habits.
Job Synopsis: Responsibilities for this nurturing role include gently guiding and collaborating with the parents, while thoughtfully tracking the baby’s feedings, sleep routines, diaper changes, and any behavior shifts. Open, supportive communication with the parents is very important. Additional tasks include caring for the baby’s laundry, sanitizing bottles, and maintaining a clean, cozy, and organized sleep space.
The baby is due June 29, and care would be needed in Orange County for the first couple of months, and then the NCS would work in Chicago, most likely for September/October. They are requesting 10-hour shifts from 9 pm-7 am, for 7 days a week, for the first 2 weeks, and then 5 days a week (Monday-Friday or Sunday-Thursday) thereafter for a minimum of 3 months, possibly up to 4 months, depending on how the new baby’s sleep routine is progressing. The hourly rate for this position ranges from $50-$55/hour, depending on experience and certifications. This position is for local candidates.
Vaccination Requirements: This family is seeking an NCS who has received the MMR and Tdap vaccinations and is open to getting the flu vaccine.
Roll Call: This amazing position will start near the end of June and last for 3-4 months.
Qualifications:
NCS certificates and/or NCS certification
Five years of professional newborn care experience
CPR/first aid certification
Excellent references
