Family Syllabus: A hard-working family who co-parents together and split their parenting time 50/50 between homes in Playa Del Rey and Venice are looking for an after-school nanny with special needs experience to help care for their 11-year-old son with hypo-tonic CP and global delays (physical and cognitive). He has a sweet and playful demeanor and loves to sing, play musical instruments, and play with cars. He is mobile and speaks in full sentences though his descriptive language is still emerging.
Ideal Candidate: Their ideal candidate is a college-educated person who has a positive attitude and is looking to form a thoughtful and trustworthy best friend relationship with their child. The family is seeking an attentive and responsible nanny or manny, and someone who can continue the work that we, his teacher, and therapists do, as well as engage in life skills, playful activities, prepare healthy meals/snacks and ensure a clean environment. When both parents are not traveling, they will be working inside the home. No overnights or traveling will be required at this time. The family is seeking a person to grow with their family.
Job Synopsis: Duties include light housekeeping related to the child such as meal preparation, cleaning up after themselves and the child, keeping the house tidy and organized. This caregiver should also be prepared to handle infrequent tantrums, and whenever necessary, be able to physically support him. The family does have a housekeeper who works a couple of times per month. The hours are Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM and it will include picking the child up from school. The family can guarantee 25 hours a week. Please have a clean, reliable vehicle. The family is offering $30-$35/hour DOE gross plus 2 weeks paid vacation and sick days.
COVID requirements: Please be taking COVID seriously, wearing a mask in public, and following all CDC guidelines. Parents are fully vaccinated and do not require the COVID vaccine, but of course they are open to it!
