Family Syllabus: An academic, organized and kind family of four located in Sherman Oaks is looking for a Private Educator that can support their two children, ages 3 and 8. Their youngest daughter is nonverbal and has Global Development Delay (GDD) and Autism. Their eight-year-old son is currently in 3rd grade and attends school virtually. The family is looking for someone who can engage their daughter with academic activities and school readiness while being able to ensure their eldest son old is on track with virtual learning and completing tasks in a timely manner. The family currently has a nanny that will be present to help support not only the educator but both children during school hours. A therapist does come to the home to work with their daughter.
Ideal Candidate: Their ideal candidate is an enthusiastic, high energy and resourceful Private Educator who has extensive knowledge of child development, can prepare and implement activities based on her needs, and has experience with development delays and nonverbal children. Their daughter will not be enrolled in school, so the family is looking for an educator to design an age-appropriate preschool curriculum and activities to engage her and help her flourish. Candidates that can encourage play and social interaction, follow her interests, and understand what she needs cognitively will be required. The family will need an educator that can check-in and is comfortable assisting their son with his coursework and virtual learning. Individuals that have great organizational skills, are tech-savvy, detail-oriented, and can provide stability within the children’s school schedule would be ideal. The family has a stunning backyard. Please be comfortable working with pets as the family does have an adorable Pomeranian.
Job Synopsis: The schedule for this position will be Monday through Friday from approximately 7:30 am -11:30 am. The hourly rate is $35-40 an hour gross with paid sick days. This position will end in June with the potential for a longer commitment. No overnights or travel will be required. No driving will be required.
COVID Requirements: Both parents are hard-working professionals who work in and out of the home and they are taking COVID-19 seriously. The family is extremely COVID conscious and they will require their educator to wear a mask or face shield in the home.
Roll Call: This amazing opportunity starts on December 14, 2020, but the family is open to a January start date as well. The educator will have holidays off.
Qualifications:
Two years of professional teaching experience
CPR/first aid certification
Excellent references
Clean reliable vehicle
