Family Syllabus: One of our amazing clients is looking for a warm, creative, grounded, self-aware, and highly skilled educator to inspire and guide their two bright young learners in a unique, small, and well-supported academic setting. Their children are rising kindergarten and first-grade students. This position requires up to 50% travel to New York City, Los Angeles, and other destinations worldwide, offering the chance to bring learning to life in inspiring new environments. The parents are organized planners, and there is always a good lead time of a couple of months of knowing what location you will be teaching in. If you possess a deep understanding of child development, diverse pedagogical approaches, and a passion for making education both meaningful and engaging, this family would love to meet you!
Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate radiates bright, bubbly energy and a grounded, warm presence that draws children in, sparks their curiosity, and motivates them to participate with joy. Every interaction should feel like an invitation to learn, guided by clear communication that helps little learners understand expectations while maintaining a light and engaging flow. This role calls for someone who can confidently lead with both heart and authority, creating a space that feels safe, happy, and purposefully directed. Story time and reading moments should brim with bravery, excitement, and curiosity, and turning each page into an adventure that builds resilience and a love of learning. Flexibility is essential, as their days often shift and surprise; the ability to adapt gracefully ensures that the magic of learning never skips a beat. The ideal candidate will be an experienced teacher or educational therapist with advanced degrees in Education, a strong early elementary background, and a gift for weaving joy and sparkle into each lesson. The family will only consider candidates with teaching experience for ages 5-8. This role requires someone who can nurture giftedness while supporting attention, focus, and stamina, drawing on expertise in social-emotional learning and executive functioning to keep young minds engaged and motivated. Preference will be given to candidates who live in California and New York. The family has guest houses at the Ojai and Los Angeles properties, where people can stay.
Job Synopsis: With intellectual flexibility and a flair for multiple teaching approaches, you will design personalized academic plans, collaborate closely with parents to meet specific goals, and create a learning environment that is as structured as it is magical. You will provide daily instruction across subjects, coordinate educational resources, plan enriching field trips, and help design engaging classroom spaces. The ideal teacher is emotionally healthy, mature, and deeply attuned to children. It’s important for this special someone to be able to connect with the children at their level while maintaining gentle and effective behavior management. The schedule for this position will require flexibility, and it will be Monday through Friday from 9 am to 2/3 pm. This family is offering $250,000-$300,000 per school year, which will be approximately 200 days. The benefits include paid holidays, sick days, and a medical stipend.

Qualifications:
Five years of classroom teaching experience
