Family Syllabus: This semi-formal family is looking for a loving, caring, and professional nanny to help care for their children ranging in age from 4-9. The family resides in Silicon Valley and maintains secondary residences nearby. The household is supported by a professionally managed family office, with legal payroll, written policies, guaranteed hours, and a dedicated household team. The ideal candidate will be organized and thoughtful in their approach, treating safety, confidentiality, and flexibility as top priorities. 

Ideal Candidate: The family is seeking an exceptional, career nanny with extensive experience caring for children and a genuine passion for fostering their growth, development, and independence. The ideal candidate is warm, kind, calm, and even-tempered, with a polished presence, impeccable manners, and a highly intuitive approach to childcare. This professional will possess strong emotional intelligence, excellent judgment, and the ability to seamlessly read the room, knowing when to step in, when to provide space, and how to maintain a peaceful, well-managed environment throughout the home. A true team player, the nanny will work closely with the parents as their primary support for all childcare needs while collaborating seamlessly with the household point of contact. The ability to create and maintain a quiet, calm atmosphere in family spaces is essential, as is the flexibility to pivot gracefully as priorities change. Within a structured schedule and guaranteed hours, the nanny will bring a proactive, thoughtful approach to supporting the children academically, socially, and emotionally, with opportunities to learn and grow within the role.

The ideal candidate will bring a thoughtful, education-focused approach to each child’s development, incorporating one hour of math practice per child each day while encouraging consistency in their other hobbies and activities. They will take an active role in school and homework coordination, helping the children stay organized with reading, projects, backpacks, uniforms, library books, and daily responsibilities, while strengthening executive-function skills through routines, organization, time management, smooth transitions, and increasing age-appropriate independence. This person will also help foster positive sibling relationships by supporting emotional regulation, respectful communication, patience, and healthy conflict resolution. As part of a professionally staffed household, the nanny will communicate and collaborate closely with chefs, housekeepers, and other nannies, with responsibilities focused specifically on the children and their belongings rather than general housekeeping. When traveling with the family, they will anticipate needs and prepare in advance, ensuring hotel rooms and residences are child-ready and that schedules, meals, activities, car seats, medications, and other essentials are seamlessly coordinated. Safety is the highest priority, and the ideal candidate will be trained to use an EpiPen.  Please maintain exceptional discretion and confidentiality both in person and on social media. Above all, this person understands when to engage and when to step back, is warm without being overly familiar, and provides the children with consistency and stability while adapting gracefully to a dynamic family schedule.

Job Synopsis: Responsibilities include transportation, daily childcare routines, organizing children’s spaces, coordinating activities, supporting family travel, and maintaining strong communication through nightly updates. The ideal candidate is an excellent swimmer, highly adaptable, discreet, and proactive, with outstanding judgment, communication skills, and a proven history of longevity in previous positions. The schedule for this position is a 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off rotation, with flexibility to work overnights a few times per month. The family is also open to a traditional full-time schedule with a guarantee of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with occasional nights and weekends. The family is pleased to offer a highly competitive compensation and benefits package designed to recognize and support a long-term, valued professional. Compensation is from $60 to $75 per hour, depending on experience, including periods when the family travels without you; overtime is paid in accordance with California law. Benefits include 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance, a year-end discretionary bonus, and cost-of-living and merit-based increases as appropriate. The position also includes a 401(k) plan, paid vacation, and paid sick leave. For ease and convenience, the family provides a family vehicle and company cell phone. Qualifications:

7-10 years of professional nanny experience with UHNW families

Experience with three or more children in a busy household

Early childhood or elementary education background 

Longevity in previous roles

Travel Nanny experience

Able to lift 50+ lbs

CPR/first aid certification

Excellent references

Excellent swimmer and able to ride a bicycle
